Dr. Gabe Willis currently serves as the Dean of Students at Southeastern Louisiana University. He became a member of the Southeastern family in 2013 as an academic advisor in the Center for Student Excellence. Dr. Willis served the Center for Student Excellence and Office of Student Conduct before being named director of Student Advocacy and Accountability in 2016. Willis was named deputy Title IX officer and spearheaded the University’s early alert system “The Lion Intervention Network,” or LINK, which remains instrumental in increasing student success, well-being, and retention.

Dr. Willis was named Dean of Students in 2018. In this role, he has a great time engaging the student body, the campus and the local community in both physical and digital spaces while also crafting policies and navigating diverse emergencies. Willis oversees the Office of Student Publications, the Office of Student Engagement, Recreational Sports/Wellness, and the Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability.

Dr. Willis believes wholeheartedly that social media is our friend. We must build personal and professional brands on these platforms and meet students where they are!
