Escaping the Data Doldrums: Transforming basic analytics into holistic data-driven decision-making

Monday, Oct 14 8:30 - 9:15

Presented by Sean Flynn

Everyone with a website knows they need some kind of analytics — but integrating analytics data into your organization’s decision-making processes in actionable ways is another thing entirely.

In this presentation, we’ll show you how William & Mary’s Advancement transitioned from basic analytics and a cumbersome reporting process to using a variety of data in our every day decision-making.

First, we introduce our foundational analytics tools: web, social and email data collection, reporting, and rapid visualization using Google Data Studio. Then we’ll talk about people and process: immersing yourself in your data, building trust with a coalition of colleagues, and making analytics a key part of your organizational decision-making.

We hope you’ll come away from this presentation feeling energized and excited about your organization’s next steps in your data journey.
