Digital Collegium is dedicated to fostering a harassment-free community and conference experience for everyone, regardless of identity factors such as (but not limited to) sex, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, culture, class, age, or faith.

Harassment may take a variety of forms and occur in a variety of environments, including in-person or online. Harassment is behavior that makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Individuals asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If you are harassed

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact Digital Collegium immediately. You may locate a conference representative on the conference floor or in the online conference platform, report to the conference office or registration/information desk, call our Digital Collegium Emergency Hotline at 725-433-1334, or complete the incident report form.

What happens if I report harassment?

Your report will be kept confidential, and only shared with Digital Collegium staff who are addressing your report.

If an attendee/member of Digital Collegium engages in harassing behavior, Digital Collegium organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender, expelling the offender from any Digital Collegium space or event with no refund, and/or banning the offender from future participation in Digital Collegium.

We’re here to help, and you can help too

Digital Collegium staff will be happy to help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist attendee safety for the duration of the conference. We ask you to be mindful of respectfully interacting with and via technology, from how you communicate in Digital Collegium virtual spaces to silencing mobile devices during presentations, from not interrupting others who are speaking to not using shared wifi/bandwidth to download large files.

We also ask you to respect the expressed personal space and socializing comfort levels of other attendees. Digital Collegium expects you to follow all public health and specific event guidelines during any in-person event.

Summary

Please be professional, considerate, respectful and collaborative to all with whom you come into contact, from fellow Digital Collegium community and event attendees to conference and venue staff to all others involved with the Digital Collegium experience. We value you, your safety and your participation, and we appreciate your help in making Digital Collegium the very best it can be.
