HighEdWeb is adjusting our Regional event model to make our content, and our community, more accessible to higher ed professionals around the country.
The new HighEdWeb Regional event format would look something like this:
- Three- to four-hour presentation with breaks in a day if you are hosting a workshop. The workshop is intended for an online format.
- One to two hours for a community group with a panel or discussion on a specific topic. The community group can be online, in-person, or hybrid.
- A regional conference length would consist of one full day. A university or college, or other location, would provide event space use free of charge (to be arranged by the organizer). The agenda would focus on multiple topics with social breaks throughout the event (at least one per every 4-hour block) and a possible pre-event informal social gathering.
And of course, HighEdWeb will provide organizational resources and support, including:
- A custom web page hosted on highedweb.org with all your event details, along with an online registration process for participants.
- Sponsorship to cover light refreshments during the event.
- Marketing support to share your event with HighEdWeb members in the area, including a suggested communication schedule and templated materials to make publicizing your event much easier.
This is where you come in: we want YOU to host a HighEdWeb event!
Please email highedweb@highedweb.org to start the process of hosting a HighEdWeb event and our regional support team will be in touch shortly with more information.
